Northland Needlers Quilt Show

35th Annual Quilt Show

Subtitle

JUDGES - judging will take place by the following individuals:

Julie Kiffin

My love of quilts began in 1977 when I took a class because I wanted to make a quilt for our bed.  Little did I know that it would have been less expensive to buy one than start on that journey!

I have enjoyed every part of that journey; from learning about antique quilts, meeting talented women who became lifelong friends and traveling to quilt shows to see and appreciate wonderful works of art.

I especially love the process of choosing colors and fabrics for a new quilt, and helping others develop that skill.  Teaching beginning quilters the art of hand piecing and applique brings great satisfaction.

In 1992 I joined a friend in owning Liberty Quilt Shop in Liberty, Missouri.  During the 12 years there, I met many quilters ? some were just learning to quilt, some were accomplished needlewomen, and some were designers and teachers.  We all had at least one thing in common; the desire to continue making quilts and seeing the creations of others.

After being a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri, I moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2004.  I continued the quilt shop online for a few years, and then sold it to my niece.  I worked at home for The Rabbits Lair in Rogers, Arkansas for 5 years, and then moved to Lee?s Summit, Missouri in December 2014.

Through the years, I have seen what a difference the creative and social aspects of quilting can mean. You can follow some of my quilting adventures through my blog, www.piecenplenty.com.    I hope to continue supporting quiltmakers in whatever the next chapter brings.
